One of the many differences between Beitar and Jerusalem is that Beitar is a city composed entirely of Haredim. Porush can hope to try and be a major player here. In Jerusalem though the story is quite different. Jerusalem is a secular city with a substantial Haredi minority. Mayor Lopolianski was elected despite the fact that he is a Haredi politician not because of it. Anyone who has seen the way the Porush campaign has been conducted in Beitar would do well to run the other way if he starts with Jerusalem. He needs to learn that he cannot carve up the country for himself. In Beitar even his own party leaders, the senior Admorim of Agudath Yisrael have abandoned him. Where are the holy Rebbes of Viznitz and Gur, the heads of the Council of Torah Sages? Where are his party colleagues, the head of the Knesset faction Rabbi Yakov Litzman and the others?
