Zionism & Israel itself were all based on socialism and equality was the name of the game but that era is long gone. Today even the Kibutzim are businesses and not all its members are equal financially. The government today embraces business as it should do and its the super rich who run those businesses which employ ordinary people. The system today might not be as fair as it was in the past but its a sign of economic maturity which Israel needs to survive in a global economy. Yes there is a growing wage gap between rich and poor but what right does anybody have to grudge the super rich their wealth? Why should it matter if one person lives in an apartment worth millions in Ramat Aviv and drives a Mercedes whilst somebody else rents a small cheap apartment and relies on the bus to get around? Whats wrong with the idea of everybody living within their means where some people are rich and others are poor ... being rich is not a crime and they should be congratulated for making it to the top rather than condemned just because they have more money that everybody else.
