Before anyone feels sorry for this guy - please read about Sobibor (where he was at least one of the guards there). In fact, the Ukranian guards were voulunteers who did much of the dirty work of murder. That is not to say that the Nazi SS guards did not take part in the killings... they did obviously as well. Sobibor - unlike Auschwitz was simply a railway stop with a false front that made it appear as if it was the entrance way to a labor camp. In fact virtually no one ever was alive longer than a single night waiting in line to die at Sobibor. There was a small house where the Sobibor "railway stop" was and upon entering the large courtyard where the hosue was - the prisoners were told that they were about to enter a labor camp and that they must shower and give up their belongings (which would supposedly be returned to them). After the prisoners had given up all their belongings (including money) - they were then gassed and burned in an open pit. Many prisoners were brutalized along the way to the gassing and the women had to undress in front of the soldiers (and some were raped by these "soldiers") before they were murdered. In one famous case - two sisters from Austria were held captive for several months and later shot and placed in the open pit where their bodies were burned. Any guard at Sobibor (including Demjanjuk) knew what they were doing.
