" The law does not allow palestinians residents of Jerusalem to list Palestine on their passports despite regulations which allows palestinians born in East Jerusalem before 1948 to list Palestine with no reference to Jerusalem. ( Palestine was considered an official soverign entity before the founding of the State of Israel ) " Before 1948 the definiation of a Palestinian was an individual born in British Mandate Palestine, its only in 1964 with the birth of the PLO that a Palestinian meant you were an arab. descended from a refugee from Mandate Palestine. Before 1948 Palestine was not a soverign entity it was a provoince of the British Empire it just so happened that the area was named Palestine at that time and as people needed something listed as their place of birth then they wrote Palestine but that didn't mean Palestine was a soverign entity. The UN would not have been able to legally partition the area if it was a soverign entity. Jerusalem was again not listed as the capital of Palestsine because it wasn't the capital of a soverign entity as Palestine had no capital. Whilst the ARABS who call themselves palestinians want a state they do not yet have one and the only soverign entity which has formerly declared Jerusalem as its capital is Israel. The facts might sometimes not fit with your political beliefs. If Peace Now want to pretend Jerusalem is not the capital of Israel because it doesn't fit in with their political ideals then they are only kidding themselves but they are not changing the truth and Jerusalem will remain the capital of Israel.
