Again, contrary to popular opinion, the idea that any Jewish organization in America exercises great control on American Jews expressing their opinions about Israel is ludicrous. Jews are the most highly educated group in the American populace by some surveys, and the idea that they refrain from developing their own individual views on ALL political issues and expressing them runs entirely counter to the experience of any highly educated group in America. Furthermore, American politics, as one politician observed, "ain't beanbag," and on ANY sharply contentious issues here you can expect some foul play as well as fair; part of the terrain.
