Israeli security concerns are understandable, but paradoxically, excessive security measures harm the security of the country. If there is a better economic and politic model, people in the same region prefer to take that model as an example. only if the owner of that model is seen as a threat against them, then they have the tendency for other models for protection. This is the case of the Lebanon. Israel's policies are really decisive not only for its own security but also for the future of the region. Because, in Lebanon people see Turkey (the model of which is quite close to the one of Israel with some differences) as a model for themselves, and the remaining see Iran as a power to keep them away from Israel danger. So as long as Israel puts a security threat in Lebanon, the latter ones will be stronger within the country. I hope at least this time Israeli government sees what Haaretz writers have seen for a long time....
