Since we lost our old pal Mubarak the Sinai has been full of weapons smugglers and terrorists blowing up the gas pipeline on an almost weekly basis and the Egyptiian troops have no desire to so anything to stop it. The army wants to stay in the Egyptian publics good books and one sure way to turn the people against the army is to help defend Israel. Virtually everybody in Egypt right now wants the peace treaty either amended or annulled and even the moderate political candidates are talking about amending the treaty and so if Israel lets the Egyptians send more troops into Sinai now we will never get rid of they, as soon as they elect a new government it will pass a law saying that these troops will stay in Sinai full time if not increase their numbers further Israel will then object and Egypt will say go to hell. The UN will then decide that the treaty should be renegotiated because the world will want to be propping up the new Egyptian government not making trouble for them. Obama of course will take the side of the Egyptians show how committed he is to supporting the new government. So if Israel lets the troops in it will never be able to get them out and be forced to renegotiate the treaty which will probably turn out bad for Israel.
