Yael Patir, Israel director of the left-leaning U.S. Jewish body, sat down with Haaretz to talk about Trump, the gap between U.S. and Israeli Jews, and the growing anger at the Israeli peace camp. Though she concedes boycott efforts by some on the left have a negative effect, she rejects calls to keep peace efforts local.01:12 01.05.16 | 4 comments
Mr. Bar'el says the Arabs dealt with Libya, Iran and Iraq, but are respecting the Palestine bank boycott because Hamas doesn't honor "Arab" positions on Israel. WHAT NONSENSE!! They boycott the Palestinians because the Palestinians are totally unimportant and have nothing to offer in return for Arab banks breaking the boycott. From Gadaffi, Saddam, and Iran they get business and had worthwhile dealings, making breaking boycotts a worthwhile risk, but the Palestinians have nothing to offer and so are being boycotted. Furthermore, the fact is that, however much the Arab people might sympathize with the Palestinians, the Arab leadership doesn't care one jot about them. The leaders only offer lip service to the Palestinian cause and -- frankly -- they are HAPPY for an EXCUSE not to give money!!!
