Yes, shechita is banned in Norway, by law established during the 1930s under the prevailing climate of the time. This was done despite an analysis from some years before, by the local veterinary authorities, concluding that shechita is no worse than other forms of production. On the other hand, barbaric traditions such as hunting of wild animals, killing of whales and culling of seals is permitted in Norway. Yet another case of descriminatory vilifying of the Jews.
