Yael Patir, Israel director of the left-leaning U.S. Jewish body, sat down with Haaretz to talk about Trump, the gap between U.S. and Israeli Jews, and the growing anger at the Israeli peace camp. Though she concedes boycott efforts by some on the left have a negative effect, she rejects calls to keep peace efforts local.01:12 01.05.16 | 4 comments
Beitar should be banned from competing. UEFA ought to be involved also. It is obvious that the team itself, all those surrounding the club, and it seems, Israeli football in general are rife with racism and xenophobia. I don't want to sound harsh, but Israeli society suffers from the same malady. In Israel you can hear, see, and often experience things that would land you in a great deal of trouble anywhere in the Western world. Israel as a whole must start to deal with these problems, because racism and religious intolerance are spinning out of control.
