Jenny Tonge has had the whiff of the anti-Semite about her for too long for the Liberal Party to ignore. In one context she made the kind of personal anti-Semitic comment I recall from school which deserved at least a punch - in those days it was not considered smart to bring such matters to the attention of the school administration, so it was dealt with between students. She has always been antagonistic towards Israel and never missed opportunities to be critical of it. Many others, myself included are critical too, but in the context referred to above and in this current situation, they and I believe she has gone too far. It is not tenable for the Liberal Party to entertain within their ranks someone with these views. Sacking her from an official party role is not sufficient. Sacking her from the party would show that Mr Clegg and the party finally concluded that her views are too noxious for her to continue as a member. Not to do so leaves the Liberal party in bad odour.
