What context do you need besides the fact that Israeli soldiers were not the sole providers of security during this incident? It is THEIR job, NOT the job of civilians, to use that kind of force when justified. It is shameful that a force that is as well-trained as the IDF should need to be augmented by armed civilians. B'Tselem is not only concerned with Israel, but Israel is its main concern because, supposedly, they have more authority over the Israeli government (through basic democratic practices) than they do over the Palestinians. B'Tselem is a group of patriots who are willing to expose abuses such as these and see to it that Israel is a place worth defending. By holding the IDF accountable (which the IDF should be able to do on its own with independent investigative practices), B'Tselem does a lot more to ensure the long-term legitimacy and security of Israel than the settlers or these soldiers do.
