Pathetic column. The left has a wonderful talent for coming out with so incredibly simplistic ideas. In Ireland a centuries long religious conflict took place between two factions of the same people. They shared the same language, the same culture and the same history. It was conflict between two faith and between two social classes but not about the land. Israel is not in the same situation at all. The Arabs and the Jews are not the same people. They have nothing in common, not the culture, not the religion, not the history. The Arabs are motivated by religious beliefs, the Jews are only defending their rights to the land of their ancestors. The Arabs have only one goal, the destruction of Israel and they are not ready to make any concessions. The Arabs are more than 450 millions in 23 countries and the Israelis are alone. I really do not see what this situation has in common with Ireland.
