While the press has a right to demand caution of the gov't before war happens, it's unfair to pretend that war vs. peace is up to Israel. I also believe that Hizbollah et al would attack in a flash if they thought they had an advantage. The best deterrent may be "saber rattling", but in any case Israel's survival depends on the IDF being ready for war. Statesmen can explore peace, but the IDF's job is to be ready for war.
