2. You confuse cause with effect and need to hear their logic. The overwhelming majority of Jews and Israelis agree: we would give up almost all the WB and Gaza IF WE TRUSTED it would lead to less bloodshed instead of more. There ARE peaceful Arabs. But, sadly not so many. Arafat was killing them. Hamas is probably killing them. Together they are indoctrinating a generation or two to demonize and hate and kill their neighbors. The question is not whether "peacefull Arabs would have a better chance of having statehood leaving it up to Israel" but that they would have it if peaceful Arabs controlled the PA as a govt and as a group.
