So when exactly, did occupation become a sin? The Church is hypocritical of course. A Latin church leader should be in Rome, he is only speaking from Jersualem due to the Crusader occupation of occupied soil. When the Soviet Union occupied half of Europe and must of Central Asia, the Left was SILENT! At this time, much of the world is "occupied" by a neighbor, yet no collective hate fest, why? As for the Moslems, they have long settled into their occupied lands, from Morocco to Indonesia they have occupied through the sword millions of non-Arabs. What of the Berbers, what of the Kurds? For some reason only Jewish "occupation" frustrates and concerns folks. Occupation in itself is not a sin, nor does it always lead to inane violence and absolute hatred. Quebec got angry at English occupation but chose Life over the cult of martyrdom. But then again if you have ever seen Quebecois women you would understand why the guys are content to be alive.
