One would think that adaquate intelligence on either side would b able to truly assess the situation instead of groping in the dark and miscaltulating intentions. Or maybe it would be better to just do something logical like TALK to the Syrians. A three - front war is something we definitely don't need. But weighing military strategy in Gaza must be done out of consideration for the situation there and not through saving manpower. A ground operation in Gaza would be a grave mistake - but there are far better reasons not to launch a ground operation in Gaza other than undermining capabilities in the north.
