Avi may be right. Peace between Israel and the Palestinians may not solve the problems of the Middle East. The past is past, but wise decisions could have created different results. Hezbollah and Hamas would not have existed had Israel left Gaza, West Bank and Golan at about the time of the treaty with Egypt. I still don't understand why Egypt didn't try harder for the other withdrawals. Jordan would be equally single-minded, signing a treaty without getting anything for the Palestinians. The region is paying the price for Israel's expansionist mindset which has created more extremist enemies.
