We rock Australia. The article forgot to mention though that in Sydney we have alternatives to Jewish Day schools. The Board of Jewish Education (BJE) provides special religious education to all public schools in New South Wales that have more than three Jewish students. They also provide Hebrew classes to public schools both Primary and High that have enough students. The BJE also provides Jewish studies lessons, Bar/Bat Mitzvah programs, in Yr10 they run a six week Israel trip as well as having a High school social program that runs weekend camps and lunch time activities at various schools and they also run Studies of Religion classes for Jewish and non-Jewish students. This is all at PUBLIC schools. So for all the parents who can't afford Jewish day schools, there are other options!!!
