" but to try and bargain for an `atonement` with money for a Jewish blood I don`t think there is any one that can call this a true `atonement`. It is a crime that only G-d have the right to `atone` and forgive. And David Ben-Gurion was not G-d." - Akram Zekaria. I beg your pardon on a couple of issues. First, how many people arose from the dead? Only Jesus and myself. And if Jesus was made God, why not me? On the main issue of your comment, the deal with Germany did not include "atonement" nor "forgiveness". Nobody is asking you or anybody else to forgive, nor did the state of Israel forgive or forgot. The Germans themselves were of course ridden by guilt and were happy to pay in order to reduce that terrible feeling. (They are doing it to this day; recently gave a few submarines to the IDF at next to no cost.) "atonement" is something the German may be hoping for. It doesn't mean this was given to them. Certainly not by the Jews.
