'There’s a unique place of pique for the Israelis in certain places in the administration' hovering over negotiations, expert tells New York Times.08:55 29.04.16 | 0 comments
Ashkenazim: jews who were born in Europe, generally East Europe, Poland, Romania, Russia, Germany, etc... Sepharadim: Jews who came from Spain and fled the inquisition to live in countries around the mediterranean, North Africa included. Mizrahim: Jews born in the East, Yemen, Iraq, Syria, Iran, Arabia, etc... Mizrahim are often put in the same category as Sepharadim, since both may have lived in arabic countries. Usually it's more how a person looks, their native language (arabic or yiddish) that defines the origin. Born a jew, I did not know these differences myself until I lived in Israel. As of the arab family, bravo, they showed compassion when other ones showed indifference. Haaretz, please publish more positive stories like this one and all the good deeds jews also do towards arabs.
