it's unlikely israel will pull out of gaza, after all, there are always religious holidays. after august come the high holidays, why should jews evacuate during the most important jewish holidays, then comes chanukkah-too symbolic of jewish struggle for independence to pull out, then comes purim-it would break the settlers children's hearts to evacuate around such a joyous holiday and then of course comes passover, no way. then comes independence day-forget it. then comes a period of religious mourning again and by then bush is really a lame duck and there's no need to rush the evacuation, is there? and if by some miracle the israelis can pencil the evacuation into their pios schedule, it's only much too little, much too late. a few hundred thousands settlers, especially the hebron talibans will still stay whee they should have been allowed in the first place. why the palestinians keep falling for this charade, i will never know. they must not be very bright.
