Sharon hardly left Gaza to see it turn into a flourishing tourist garden withh its beautiful beaches. This is simply not true. After they brought the colonists back, the expansionism in the WB went into high gear. Israel's military still controlled the livees of Gazans. Thhere was not settlement, no effort to assist the Gazan economy. To the contrary, Israel controlled movement in and out, the airspace and port. As things became even more draconian, there was more resistance. How many Gazans have been killed by IDF incursions? There was no concern for civilians whatsoever when the bombs fell on Shehadeh's apartment. The decision was made to kill civilians as a lesson. How many Gaza children live in fear, how many have been shot or wounded in crossfire? Israel withdrew its colonists only to turn Gaza into a ghetto and expect Gazans to see themselves apart from WBankers. What has been going on in Gaza since 2001 Mr Marcus? What is the perpetual fear they have had to live with?
