a few other colleges in the States have been gender separated for many decades, the female students study ther and get the same education as thier Columiba and Harvard male students and nobody in the United Stqates ever has made teh asinine statements about gender separation towards those august Ivy League instituions. The fact is that gener separation in many colleges in the States was common up to the second world war, and the schools changed their polies not becasue of egalitarian considerations, but economic and organizatiional motives. Indeed, there are a few colleges in that still separate the genders, not many, and nobody is upset over it. Only in Israel, perhpas, where we must be "liberal or else" and follow some Yellow brick road, as it were. Yes, Virginia we must emuclate the United States when it suits our "party line", but when it the time to include Haredim into the general cosiety, we have to leave off some little detail that doesn't suit our soicial equation.
