I am a child of shoah-survivors, but I understand why young Israelis move to Berlin. Germany has really de-nazified (at least the former west Germany), it is not Austria, which is still very antisemitic. and Berlin is an open and dynamic place, and Germany gives many perks to jewish immigrants. You can write the same story about Amsterdam, there are a lot of Israelis living in the Netherlands too, even though it is not as cheap as Germany. I would like to know if there is also a religious Jewish life in Berlin, are there Jewish Renewal chavurot, etc.? Not all young Israelis are completely secular!
