Associates close to Netanyahu and Ya'alon called draft review of Operation Protective Edge 'an unserious report that reeks of politicking.'12:47 06.05.16 | 0 comments
Ari, these things happen at airports all over the world, yet, would you believe that some people single out Israel for criticism? The worst situation I know of was an Indian man I worked with in the 1980s. He was married to a Swedish woman and flew with her one Christmas to visit her family in Sweden. The plane made a stop in England, where this very nice man was not allowed to continue on to Sweden. He was actually put in a detention cell. Why? Because he had a long beard and long hair and looked like a radical. He stayed behind bars until his wife left Sweden and then flew back with her to the U.S. He joked about it rather than suing anyone. He said that was one way of avoiding having to see the inlaws. But the point is that this happens in many countries, including democracies.
