I personally feel - and I believe other people share my feelings and views too - that we have Many things to learn from and admire in Gilad Shalit eg who would be sensitive enough to appreciate and be grateful for the few "little good things" he had while he was in captivity instead of concentrating in and complaining about the terrible situation he was in for over 5 years like many of us may have done had we found ourselves in his situation? Who would have the sensitivity and sense of deep gratitude Gilad displays to be able to appreciate and "get excited" about things most of us tend to take for granted? You may choose not consider him a hero in military terms but I believe Gilad is a hero in dimensions which are far more important

from the article: In first televised interview, Gilad Shalit says 'it will be hard for me to send my children to the army'
