When Joshua met with Christ - the commander of the armies of heaven on his way to lead the Israel army against the fortified city of Jericho, he mistook Him for an enemy and was decided in his next action in case it happened an enemy was at hand. God had instructed Joshua to be courageous to lead the Israelites into the Promised Land. The question--- are you for us or against us -- to me is a memorial of his courage. After the Commander introduced Himself as at the time of Mosses at the burning bush, Joshua was given the revelation and bowed with his head to the ground in submission and worship---to me a memorial of God’s presence in our affairs. God’s presence in the army of Israel should always be respected and acknowledged and sought. Joshua regardless of His courage had to remember the words of God ---didn’t l command you, l will be with you always. Oh go before us oh Almighty LORD God of Israel and always open our eyes so that we may not sin or fall prey to pride in your absence.
