It is Frank who is the fantasist. There are many successful binational states. Belgium and Switzerland. It is only when one nation or group sets itself up as a chosen people, gives itself privileges on the basis of ethnicity, seeks to 'purify' the state by reducing the percentage of the other and allies itself to the world's dominant imperial power that you find it difficult to live together. Yes Northern Ireland is not a successful state, not surprising since it's part of the UK! The Loyalists of Ulster admire Israel for its treatment of Arabs, as they wish they could still treat the Catholics like Israeli Arabs. But where racism and apartheid has been removed, as per South Africa, there is no problem in different groups living together. Zionism is the problem. It operates on the basis that it would be better that the Arabs weren't there - after all it is a Jewish State.
