Your claim that Jews had purchased only seven percent of the land in Palestine before the birth of Israel is probably true. Most of the land in Palestine (Israel today) is desert in Southern Israel (the Negev), and still has not been purchased. In addition, much of the land in Shomron and Judea (West Bank) is also desert, or rocky hills, not suitable for agriculture. I doubt if very many Palestinian Arabs lived in those places either, prior to 1948.
