The only way an Anwar Sadat will appear in the Middle East is when Israel stands united on core issues. This is not the case today, which is different to the post Yom Kippur period. Today the Left in Israel openly say they are willing to give the Palestinians what they want, prior to negotiations. This has had the opposite effect intended by the Left and has in fact damaged the chances for peace and has kept a new Anwar Sadat at home.
