Several issues stand in the way of an agreement, including Turkish demands of unfettered access to the Gaza Strip, and Hamas activity in Turkey.17:16 11.02.16 | 0 comments
I am not American or Israeli by birth, but I lived in Israel for 7 years and now live in the USA. I find American Jews in many ways more engaged in their Jewish identity than I find many Israelis I encountered living in Israel. Many of us olim who came to Israel with a strong Jewish identity, felt we didn't need to feel as strongly since we were living in Israel. So I stopped keeping a kosher home for eg. I take far greater effort in being Jewish here in the US, than I ever did in Israel where to just live in israel with so many challenges feels like enough to prove/feel we are Jews.
