Who can put enough pressure on a Hamas gangster in Damaskus to expose himself in a country which itself fights the Shia/Hamas-expansion? It's, of course Syria. If Hamas wanted him to be quiet they would have killed him before letting him outside their control. The Syrians know how fight the West and pleasing it at the same time. That's their game since the early 70s. Their policy is never to be caught red-handed so as to never lose an ally. Hamas has to swallow that pill, isolated as they are in the Arab world.
