I served in the 1967 War, won by a thoroughly Secular, highly motivated, well trained army with a brilliant strategy. Whilst in uniform, I was invited to celebrate “our” Victory (i.e. they consider it theirs as well) with Israeli Arabs. We fared worse in Lebanon, because of insane people like this Minister, who became complacent, because he thought God (and not people like me?) were on his side. Divisive of his own people, bigoted towards his enemies, he diverts attention from the real adversities. The other side are going down the same route. No wonder they don’t talk to each other. When was the last time we saw God in battle?
