What Mr. Wistrich is saying is another good reason to take a long view about changing the whole attitude Israel has, and obvsiouly the Jews in the West, towards the significance of the West for the promotion and the solidification of Israel in a world that is changing radically, and the reality is different from the one we have assumed 60years ago. The centre of the UNIVERSE is no longer in the West, including an America whic did'nt manage to make the right policy in regard to the ME. There is a movement, inextricable one, that is deffinetly changing our perception and therefore our strategies. It is too obvious that the Jews should attach importance to the anti-semitic occurences in the new Europe, but it ought to be done without trying to give away any tactics. By menacing the European countries about the anti-semitic acts, you give away all your strenght. At the end of the day what could a mere statistic do to the change of attitude?!, unfortunately nadda, zilch. New policy has to emerge to counter this flagrant incidents to wards Jewws in the West, so that it will cost somehow to the originators of the incidents. It requires lot of courage and vision to come up with tactics that will force the culprit to stop their hate.
