"Few, if any nations, have the ability to flail their neighbors whenever they become annoying." Unintentional humour perhaps. Isn't it "annoying" to hear your neighbors call for your genocide and try repeatedly to enforce it by all means possible? There is no balance of fear between a democratic state controlled by its citizen and armed sects in the control of megalomaniac madmen. Nasrallah, Ahmedinejad, Assad or Meshal don't fear for their people: they only fear for the absolute power and the good lives they enjoy at the expense of the people. Hosni Mubarak looks like a benevolent despot compared to those thugs and Mohammed VI or Recip Erdogan are secular leaders in comparison. No peace is possible with nazis. Ever. You can contain, deter or defeat them, but there is no way to make peace with criminals who use antisemitism as a political tool. The reason you don't want to see that is the less gracious: because you make believe your're not next on their list.
