Anne, nice poem. Alicia, the first and last paragraphs are good. The middle is confusing. Jews and Arabs living together would be a great thing, and I think in the 20's, even early 30's that was possible. But it seems that in the 30's the focus became more on creating a Jewish State, and less on sharing a homeland between Jews and Arabs, and that is what started the friction. So who do we blame, the German Jews, the foreign Arab countries, the Zionists, the original Jewish citizens, the original Arab citizens ... We just don't know what happened. Not enough video and internet at the time, kinda like the bible stories. So let's apologize and move on. (Do you not feel sorry that the Palestinians were made refugees. I think I misread you, sometimes you seem sympathetic).
