Hizbollah are not able to shoot down Israels fighter jets. Fighter fly to high and to fast and only dedicated anti aircraft systems are a real threat and Hizbollah does not have anti aircraft systems. The IDF has improved its hardware by replacing its older less well protected Merkava 2 with new Merkava 4 and all tanks are going to be fitted with a system to protect them from anti tank missiles which they did not have in 2006. Missile boat captains have learned not to switch off their protection systems. The IDF has learned new tactics, Bibi & Barak have said already any future war with Lebanon will mean gloves off. Olmert was worried about proportional force that won't happen this time. We also have a defense minister who doesn't define pre emptive strike as unions going on strike before they even make their demands. We do not have that crooked idiot Dan Halutz as chief of staff. Last time the officers in Lebanon were begging for more infantry and Dan Halutz kept refusing because he was convinced air power would win the war. It wasn't until the last days of the war when it was to late that he agreed to send them. Unlike in 2006 the government now lets the IDF make decisions on tactics and the ministers don't sit in their air conditioned offices and tell the men on the ground what to do. Lebanon 3 is just around the corner if Lebanon's Hizbollah government don't its their act together and Lebanon may end up looking like it did in the height of the civil war when Beirut was a battlefield. Israel is run by Bibi, Liberman and Barak now not Olmert, Livni and Peretz.
