Andrea, don't you realize that you are reading and Israeli paper and that they will discuss things relevant to Israel and the jewish diaspora. If you read a Latin American newspaper you would have read about how they hoped to get a Hispanic pope elected and analyzed what impact that would have on their communities. Similarly, African newspapers were full of analysis as to what impact the election of the Nigerian cardinal would have on their problems with AIDS/HIV and the conflict with Islam. Why are you even bothering to read an Israeli paper if you arent interested in seeing how Israelis view the new pope. We express our views about the impact on Israel because that is what this paper is for. Many of us also read the BBC and express our views on the global impact of the papal election there.
