Assad is destroying his military, the army is wasting its weapons on the Syrian people rather than Israel ( a missile used against Syrians is one less missile Assad can use against Israel ). The rebels are killing soldiers and invading military bases so they are destroying the weapons Assad could have once used against Israel. Before the fighting started Assad was preparing to spend big money modernising the military, new fighters that can counter Israelis jets, new T90 tanks to counter the Merkava and even submarines to counter the Dolphins. Assad is now slowly bankrupting the country, give it another 6 months and we will see a scene where banks collapse and everybody looses everything and Assad will have sold the countries foreign currency reserves so there will be no money to rebuild the army for the next 20 years and the people will be more concerned about rebuilding than they will be worrying about Israel. The Syrian people might be suffering but when its all over Israel will be smiling because its enemy has destroyed itself.
