Thank you Mark for a well-written article in defence of, as you say, outraged Jewish Brits. However, I'd be interested to know your thoughts on the point of David Ward's ill-judged comment - and indeed the subject of the cartoon - which is the treatment of Palestinians living under Israeli occupation. No doubt for many of them these angry exchanges about who said what when, and who is most offended, must amount to a cynical distraction from the key issues of trying to raise families in the harsh conditions consequent on the occupation eg limited movement, segregation, water shortages and an increase in illegal settlement activity. Moreover, when you talk about Jewish Brits, or British Jews, do you speak for all of them as if they form some sort of monolithic bloc? Isn't that assuming too much?
