The answer: On June 19th, 1967, the Soviets and Arab States have drafted resolution A/L 519 that was brought for voting in the UN General Assembly on July 4th. Resolution A/L 519 was REJECTED by the General Assembly. 35 years prior to the construction of the security fence; 33 years before Sharon became Israel?s PM; 10 years BEFORE the extensive settlements construction began; 7 years before the Arabs used the oil embargo to bend governments over; and Before the Arabs had the time to run the advertising campaign, selling the occupation as the source of all Mid? East problems ? The General Assembly stood by Israel. The Arab-Soviet cynicism was quite extraordinary. They also suggested that Israel should pay for the damage inflicted on the aggressors. It is as same as suggesting that a man who attempts murder on another fellow man would demand the victim of the attack to pay for the bullet used in the attack because the attacking man missed his target? The lie was not accepted then, and should not be tolerated now. The requirement from Israel to withdraw from the territories occupied was rejected, alongside the attempt to blame Israel for the war. The demand to have Israel withdraw to positions beyond the demarcation lines (June 4th, 1967 borders) was dismissed.
