Correct. And it also undercuts one of the conclusions of the Turkel Commission itself: that IDF policies did not contribute to any unnecessary violence or violations or international law. Since the IDF's commander, in his testimony, openly advocated authorizing snipers to use lethal fire against "protesters" who have not even attacked a soldier, the Commission's insistence that IDF policies during the raid were consistent with international law is clearly out of line both with the known facts of the raid and with the statements of its chief policymaker.
