Ancestry "can" be a component of ethnicity. But it is not a requirement. And most ethnicities are infact groups of u related peoples bound by culture language customs group solidarity and this identity. Conversely, there are population groups of the same ancestry who consider themselves different ethnic groups (Serbians/Bosnians/Croatians, Jews/Samaritans/Palestinians, Indians/Pakistanis, and also genetically speaking Greeks/Anatolian Turks, because Anatolian Turks are hardly genetically related to Turks in Central Asia, but to Greeks.)
