"Although Israel declares it is building settlements on state-owned land," !!!! Care to square that statement with Israel's (self-acknowledged) obligations under the Hague Regulations, one of which states that: "The occupying State shall be regarded only as administrator and usufructuary of public buildings, real estate, forests, and agricultural estates belonging to the hostile State, and situated in the occupied country. It must safeguard the capital of these properties, and administer them in accordance with the rules of usufruct." i.e. Israel can enjoy the fruits of that state land, but can not change its nature. Taking state land and on-selling it to your own nationals would appear to be about as blatant a violation as you can get, and *especially* *so* when you turn around and announce that *because* you have sold the land to your own nationals you have to be allowed to annex the territory.
