I believe articles such as this can be referred to as "grasping at straws". 1) Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank are not governed by Israel. 2) SA was a case of a minority ruling the majority. This is not the case in Israel. 3) The "apartheid" wall serves its purpose. Anybody who argues that it hasn't helped on the defense front is an idiot. The wall is 95% wire fencing but all we ever see is the built up concrete part, wonder why? 4) Are Arab babies born in Israel forced to use different wards and be treated by different nurses to Jewish babies? 5) Jews actually have legitimate and undeniable historical, religious, cultural and ancestral claim to the land they currently reside in. 6) The ultimate goal for Gaza and the West Bank is to have them governed by Palestinians, not Israel. 7) Israeli Arabs share equal rights and exist within a majority-rule democracy. Whilst prejudice may exist, there are laws to combat that. I could go on forever. The fact is it's the Arabs who discriminate against non-Muslims, especially Jews. Israel is a unique case of democracy and the apartheid comparison has been denounced by plenty of South Africans and scholars a like. Your use of the term apartheid is not only an insult to the people that suffered under it, but it can also be considered libelous. I'll no longer be frequenting Haaretz because your general alignment is shocking and the "opinions" offered here are full if ill intent and misinformation providing anti-ISRAELIS with perfect ammunition when spouting their propaganda. You are the British equivalent to the Daily Mail.
