    "Khaled Meshal, the head of Hamas' political bureau, said that his movement cannot oppose the unified Arab stance expressed in the resolution passed by the Arab League summit.. recognizing Israel and normalizing relations with it in exchange for a full withdrawal and a solution to the refugee problem." - D. Rubinstein This is the most moderate statement I heard from Meshal. Previously Hamas spoke of a long term hudna in return for withdrawl to the 1967 lines. Hamas is moderating as we write (and as some of us expected would be the result of their participation in the elections). But to be realistic, they are NOT going to disarm before peace is achieved, or else they lose any means of pressuring Israel into peace concessions. If Israel and the US insist, this makes Hamas a non-partner. My preference is to negotiate with Abbas, who is much easier to deal with than Hamas.
