Direct talks between Israel and the PLO, but not at the level of heads-of-govt. A very good idea indeed, because it gives an opportunity for both sides to make progress before the two leaders meet and thrash out the wording of a treaty i.e. this prevents *either* leader from claiming that they went into direct negotiations only to be mugged by the other side. This is what was missing before Camp David, and more than anything what doomed that meeting.
