Israel's Foreign Ministry ordered to 'reassess' EU involvement with Palestinians after decision to label West Bank goods; 'decision is almost completely devoid of any real significance,' official says.23:15 29.11.15 | 10 comments
Tom, Israel has been participating in European events because Arab countries, from day one, have been boycotting them in every instance. At your beloved U.N., for example, Israel until recently (six months ago?), couldn't be assigned to any panel of the United Nations because the 'Asia' group refused to have it as a member. The same with footie -- Israel is in UEFA because the Arab countries wouldn't let them into theirs. Even the Arab equivalent of Eurovision doesn't extend an invitation. But the boycotts aren't all bad -- the Israeli soccer club for example is probably best in the Middle East, because it faces better competition.
