    I am not a diaspora Jew. I am an american who happens to be Jewish. I am not a religious Zionist. Unlike the many sheep like followers of ultra orthodox communities who form small and non monolithic voting blocks and live in semi or total isolation I live surrounded by may types of Jewish and non jewish friends and neighborS I am happy that there is a country in the fertile crescent that is Israel and that it has survived these many years as an independent entity and a moderately democratic country. I am a member of a Conservative Congregation that has a substantial number of former Israeli Citizens who are now Americans. Here they have religious freedom, work for themselves or for others of many faiths who are willing and able to satisfy the jewish employees needs for the time to honor their Judaism, attend daily minions, celebrate major and minor holy days, get married with a Rabbi who is not answerable to a Chief religious authority or have a government decide who is a jew and who
